Volkswagen Child Zone

The Client
Volkswagen UK, as part of the Volkswagen Group, is one of the country’s largest importers of vehicles, employing nearly 600 people nationwide.

The Challenge
Volkswagen wanted to create a child zone in a series of six show rooms in different regions around the country. Each child zone had to endorse their family friendly brand values and provide a car-themed interactive experience to keep children occupied while their parents view and discuss the latest models.

The Solution
Dominion created a series of curved walls printed with houses, roads and distinctive landmarks that would be familiar to children from each of the six regions in which the show rooms were located. The walls are backed with a ferris material and attract separate cars we printed and cut from magnetic material. Ninety-eight showrooms have now installed our magnetic wall in their child zones. Children can easily peel the cars from the wall and then reposition them at different places, happily making up stories and occupying themselves.

The Impact
Volkswagen love this simple, cost effective solution which performs an important function, endorses their family friendly brand values and also allows for a bespoke element from region to region. Most importantly, the walls are a big hit with the children who visit Volkswagen.
